Summary
Problem:
Businesses often have to navigate multiple platforms to view and analyze their competitors' online reviews, which often leaves them in a time-consuming and difficult situation.
Solution:
Sitejabber decided to create a new page for business users on the website as a way to collect reviews from different platforms of competitors that businesses want to review and to consolidate and analyze these reviews in a comprehensive manner.
Research
Research and Comparing existing data insights dashboard
Since many of our interviewees had the cumbersome process and inefficiency concerns, I decided to understand our user pain points by researching several current popular data insights dashboards, such as Trustpilot, ResellerRatings, Google Seller Ratings, etc.
User Interview
In order to gather more information, We sent out online surveys to users about their pain points and expectations for view and analyzing their competitor's online reviews, here are some key takeaways based on 42 responses.
-
63% of participants are experiencing a hard time viewing the different platform's online reviews for their competitors and it would be easier for them if they shows up on one platform.
-
Keywords, top topics, and distribution of reviewer regions matter to them most when viewing their competitor's reviews.
-
Simple and easy to use are key factors to consider when using this feature in Sitejabber dashboard.
Efficiency
Since this product is mainly targeting business users and wants to help them get a better way to view and analyze their competitor's online reviews, it’s all about efficiency.
Simple and friendly design
This platform should be simple and easy to use, consistent with a reasonable hierarchy.

After finishing setting up the competitor page, view reviews for which competitor you would like to monitor from this page. Clicking the top right button you can change the competitor to monitor.

Reflection
Through this project, I learned that user testing doesn't end after development. Design is a constant iteration of improving the experience for the end-user. We need to find ways to collect and listen to your user's feedback.
Since the launch of this project, we received a lot of positive feedback from users about the Competitor Insights Dashboard which is saving them a large proportion of their time.
